Refund policy
1. Overview
We offer a 30-day return period on eligible products. This policy applies in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Change-of-mind returns are accepted only where the item meets the conditions below and is approved by DCUAV in advance.
2. Eligibility for Returns
To be eligible for a return:
- The item must be returned within 30 days of delivery
- The item must be unused, uninstalled, and in as-new condition
- All original packaging, accessories, manuals, and components must be included
- Drones and systems must not show signs of flight, activation, binding, or configuration
- Proof of purchase is required
DCUAV reserves the right to inspect and determine whether an item qualifies for return.
3. Return Authorisation

- Order number
- Reason for return
- Photos (if applicable)
Returns must be approved prior to sending goods back. Items returned without approval may be refused.
4. Return Shipping
- For change-of-mind returns, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer
- If the return is due to an error by DCUAV (incorrect or defective on arrival), we will cover reasonable return shipping costs
- We recommend using a trackable shipping method and retaining proof of postage
5. Restocking & Inspection Fees
For approved change-of-mind returns:
- A restocking and inspection fee of up to 20% may apply
- The exact fee will depend on the condition of the returned item
Deductions may be applied where:
- Packaging has been opened or damaged
- Accessories or components are missing
- The item shows signs of use, installation, flight, or activation
- Batteries show usage cycles or degradation
- Firmware binding, registration, or configuration has occurred
- Additional inspection, testing, or repackaging is required
Refunds will be issued for the remaining balance after applicable deductions.
6. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
Please inspect your order upon receipt.
If your item is:
- Damaged in transit
- Defective
- Incorrect
Contact us promptly with details and supporting photos.
Where applicable under Australian Consumer Law, we will assess the issue and provide a remedy, which may include repair, replacement, or refund.
7. Non-Returnable Items
Unless required under Australian Consumer Law, the following items are not eligible for return:
- Custom-configured or special-order systems
- Items that have been used, flown, installed, or activated
- Software licenses, activation keys, or digital products
- Batteries that have been used or show signs of degradation
- Consumables and perishable items
- Items missing original packaging, accessories, or documentation
8. Exchanges
To exchange an item:
- Request and return the original item (if eligible)
- Place a new order for the replacement item
9. Refunds
Once the returned item is received and inspected:
- We will notify you of the outcome
- If approved, refunds will be issued to the original payment method
- Processing may take up to 10 business days after approval
- Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error
10. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
You are entitled to a remedy for major failures, including a refund, replacement, or compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
